Stephanie FonesStephanie Fones

Stephanie is currently attending UWM to pursue a B.S in Geosciences. Previously, she was in the Civil Engineering program at MATC where she was introduced to the GO FoRWARD program while taking an Environmental Science class with Scott Schaefer. This program helped her to decide on her future plans including planning to attend graduate school to further her knowledge in Chemistry.  She was born in Milwaukee WI and finished High School in Hayward WI.  She later obtained an Associate’s Degree in Building Construction from Lake Superior College in Duluth MN.  She moved back to Milwaukee WI to build a better future. In her free time she likes to read, hike, garden and challenge herself throughout her studies. She also enjoys occasional outings with friends.

Mikayla Walker Mikayla Walker

Mikayla is pursuing her undergraduate degree in geosciences at UW-Milwaukee. She became interested in geology through the GO FoRWARD program two summers ago. GO FoRWARD helped her find a career path that she is passionate about. In her free time, Mikayla likes to lift weights, play video games, and travel.

 

 

Dylan Childs

Dylan Childs

Dylan is pursuing his degree in Geosciences at UWM. He chose this major because of his affinity towards water which made him want to find a career based around water science. He was born in Madison, Wisconsin and moved to Milwaukee when he started his degree. Some of his current hobbies include running, playing Super Smash Bros., listening to Alan Watts’ lectures, and eating kiwis.

A summer experience hosted by the UWM Department of Geosciences and funded by the National Science Foundation, dedicated to increasing the diversity, equity, and inclusion of students majoring in geosciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
