1. Students must be undergraduates at UWM or MATC in their first two years of school (or equivalent credits). UWM at Waukesha and UWM at Washington County qualify too!  Students starting college in the Fall are welcome to apply for the preceding summer.
  2. This is program sponsored by the National Science Foundation to provide opportunities in geosciences to students from groups underrepresented in the geosciences. To be eligible, you must identify as a member of a group that has been historically underrepresented in geosciences including: Black, African American, Native American, American Indian, Native Pacific Islanders, Native Alaskan, Hispanic, Latino/Latina/Latinx, and others. Not sure if you qualify? Please ask, or just apply and explain your situation. We want to open this experience to as many students as possible.
  3. Students must be available to attend GO FoRWARD events on Mondays-Thursdays 10 AM-4:30 PM between June 27-July 21, 2022.  Please note that if you are an incoming UWM student, we request that you schedule your new student orientation for days that do not conflict with GO FoRWARD dates.
  4. Students who participated in previous GO FoRWARD summer programs are not eligible for a second year. Sorry!  Please tell your friends to apply!

A summer experience hosted by the UWM Department of Geosciences and funded by the National Science Foundation, dedicated to increasing the diversity, equity, and inclusion of students majoring in geosciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
