Cullen Meurer was awarded the Nelson Cherkauer Lasca Legacy Summer Research Fellowship for his research on the fate and transport of uranium in groundwater at former US Department of Energy field sites. The fellowship is worth $4,000. Cullen’s research on uranium will also be presented at the 54th Annual Meeting of the GSA North-Central Section Meeting. Click here to view the abstract.

Adam Schmidt Awarded GSA Research Grant
Adam Schmidt was awarded the GSA North-Central Section undergraduate research grant for his proposal entitled, “The Milwaukee Column: A simple, affordable, and effective apparatus for teaching and research of one-dimensional flow and transport in porous media”.
