2019 was the second year for UWM Department of Geosciences GO FoRWARD program. Through funding by the National Science Foundation (Dyanna is PI), GO FoRWARD provides first and second year undergraduate students from groups underrepresented in geosciences a paid opportunity during the summer to learn about the geosciences discipline and its career opportunities. This summer’s Rocks Research Group (one of 3 GO FoRWARD research groups) was led by Dyanna Czeck, graduate student Nancy Duque, and undergraduate students Josh Reed and Dulce Hernandez. Our fabulous rocks groups participants were: Isabella Ewan, Stephanie Fones, Serena Martinez, Melinda Warren, and Jalisa Welch. Check out the crew at the Hausz Brothers Quarry near Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Thanks to Hausz Brothers for access.
