In 2007, I sampled some deformed conglomerates on the island of Islay in Scotland. The island was fantastic- full of kind people, beautiful scenery, fun rocks, and pleasant distractions.
- Dyanna is collecting samples from the Scarabus quarry (deformed conglomerates).
- The view from the quarry shows rolling farm fields with hidden rock outcrops.
- Nice piece of conglomerate.
- A big competent granite cobble within the conglomerate.
- Most photographed “wildlife” on Islay.
- When we were done collecting at the quarry, we saw other parts of the island. The waves by Portnahaven were fantastic.
- The most delightful distraction on Islay. Such hardship.
