Welcome to the Research Showcase!

As Chair of the UWM Department of History, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the department’s Virtual Research Showcase, with contributions from undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty. Like much of this year, the showcase demonstrates that however challenging this year has been for research and learning, we are all still persevering and still finding ways to pursue the research we love.

We are also taking this opportunity to welcome officially our new inductees into the department’s honor society, Phi Alpha Theta, and I congratulate all the students on their accomplishments.

As we near the end of an unprecedented year for all of us, I extend my thanks to all who have contributed to the showcase this year. The presentations demonstrate that we have a vibrant and diverse research culture in the department, and I hope you find the presentations both interesting and enjoyable.
