We are open for submissions for our Spring 2024 issue from Dec. 1, 2023 until March 4th, 2024 at 11:59 PM Central Time.

We accept unpublished poetry, fiction, nonfiction, art, and comics by undergraduate students.

To be eligible for publication in our next issue (May 2024), you must be enrolled as an undergraduate at any U.S. college or university during the 2023-2024 academic year. (If you graduate in December, you’re still eligible.) We will notify you by mid-April with our decisions.

Each student may submit:

  • One short story (up to 5,000 words, double-spaced)
  • One work of creative nonfiction (up to 5,000 words, double-spaced)
    • Note: we do not publish academic or scholarly essays. We do publish literary nonfiction and memoir.
  • Up to 5 poems
  • Up to 5 works of art
  • Up to 10 pages of comics
