Submitting to Furrow
We will be open again for submissions starting December 1st, 2025!
We accept unpublished poetry, fiction, nonfiction, art, and comics by undergraduate students (if you graduated in the fall, that’s fine!).
To be eligible for publication in our next issue (May 2026), you must you must be enrolled as an undergraduate at any U.S. college or university during the 2025-2025 academic year. (If you graduate in December, you’re still eligible.) We will notify you by mid-April with our decisions.
Please note: we do not accept submissions which use generative AI at any point in the creative process.
Each student may submit:
- One short story (up to 5,000 words, double-spaced)
- One work of creative nonfiction (up to 5,000 words, double-spaced)
- Note: we do not publish academic or scholarly essays. We do publish literary nonfiction and memoir.
- Up to 5 poems
- Up to 5 works of art
- Up to 10 pages of comics
