Cap de Creus is a gorgeous area in the Catalunya region, located in the far northeastern corner of Spain along the Mediterranean. The area has fantastic scenery and geologic structures! Here is just a small taste.
- Shear Bands.
- Jordi Carreras shows some retrograde shear zones (large lozenge of lesser deformed rocks are surrounded by shear zones).
- Dyanna and her favorite lozenge.
- Tiny crenulations.
- White bands of syndeformational dikes within the gray country rocks.
- Tiny crenulations.
- Geology with a view!
- Ah… the Mediterranean.
- The town of Cadeques, our “base camp.” Such hardship.
