Dyanna selected as Fulbright Scholar to work at University of Melbourne

Dyanna Czeck was selected as a Fulbright US Scholar for 2025-2026 to work with Dr. Melanie Finch at the University of Melbourne, Australia.  Dyanna will be visiting Melbourne from January – May 2026. Dyanna and Melanie are going to be studying ductile shear zones and hydrothermal fluid interaction using a variety of tools including synchrotron-source FTIR and micro-computed tomography (micro CT).  They are also planning to visit some Australia shear zones in the field.  Hydrothermal fluids in shear zones are responsible for concentrating a variety of ore bodies and critical minerals, so understanding the dynamics of fluids through shear zone rocks will be important for targeting future exploration as society moves towards enhanced technology and green energy sources.
