Kayla Kopinski and Dyanna went to University of Wisconsin-Madison to start analyzing their Pulo do Lobo samples using electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD). Their goal is to collect quartz c-axis fabrics in order to further constrain the kinematics and potential fluid flow along the Southern Iberian Shear Zone. Since we haven’t been able to visit Spain lately, we are using the samples collected with Nancy Duque, Carlos Fernández, and Manuel Díaz-Azpiroz in January 2020. Thanks to Drae Rogers who helped polish our samples and to Bil Schneider and Will Nachlas who helped with the analytical work.
