UWM Structural Geology at 2019 Annual Geological Society of America Conference

UWM structural geologists showed off their science at the this year’s Geological Society of America conference in Phoenix, Arizona which was held from September 22-25, 2019.

Dyanna Czeck (faculty) presented a poster with coauthors Sheryl Stephenson (MS, 2018), Manuel Díaz-Azpiroz (Universidad Pablo de Olavide), Carlos Fernández (Universidad de Huleva), and Marcos García-Arias (Universidad de Los Andes) on “Syndeformational fluid flow in metabasite rocks along the Southern Iberian Shear Zone.”

Chad Martin (MS student) presented a talk with coauthors Dyanna Czeck (faculty) and Adolph Yonkee (Weber State University) on “Characterization of syndeformational water pathways and hydrolytic weakening within naturally deformed quartz grains along a strain gradient.”

Chad Martin fields questions after his GSA talk in Phoenix.
