The type site for the late Iron Age in Switzerland was discovered and publicized in Europe at a time in the mid-19th /early 20th centuries when museums in the United States had already begun to acquire material from Neolithic and Bronze Age lake dwelling contexts, creating channels of communication between institutions, collectors and scholars.
Bettina Arnold presents a lecture on the archaeology and ancient history of brewing in antiquity entitled The Past on Tap: Archaeology, Beer and Science Education. Lecture was part of the Master Chats Series for Advanced Learning held at the UWM Gold Meier Library on February 7, 2020.
The People’s Choice Award went to UWM undergraduate Anthony Spiegel for his yarrow-hyssop braggot. While the judges selected Hannah Blija’s Latvian-style kvass as the winning entry.

The Fermentation Studies/Brew Garden initiative at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee will hold a tasting competition with three judges choosing the top three brews, all of whom are professionals associated with local businesses involved in brewing, dispensing, and/or reporting on fermented beverages.
