On May 13, 2019 UWM Anthropology PhD candidate Josh Driscoll and I met up with the January 2019 Unhopped Iron Brewer Challenge winner Jeff Enders and Gathering Place Brewing’s Head Brewer Corey Blodgett at Spike Brewing in River West. Ryan Oxton of Spike generously allowed us to use one of their smaller fermenters and the experimental lab space so we spent most of the afternoon brewing up a Gallo-Roman cervoise to the cheerful background music of metal-working equipment employed in finishing stainless steel brew kettles and other paraphernalia. The brew will be available soon at Gathering Place River West, Milwaukee for folks to try – watch this space and the Unhopped Iron Brewer Facebook page for the announcement!
