Performance Monitoring of Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration Systems
Motivation:
Reverse osmosis water purification system are composed of large numbers of individual filtration elements that are currently monitored in large sets. Monitoring the performance of elements on an individual level will enable identification of underperforming elements and support development and testing of new filtration technologies. Identification and replacement of underperforming individual elements has the potential to improve overall system performance and prolong system life. Similarly, monitoring of individual prototype components will reduce the scale and costs of developing and testing new filtration technologies
Goals:
Develop a submersible sensor suite to monitor properties of interest in a harsh, high pressure, salt water environment.
