We are closed for submissions and will be open for our Spring 2026 issue on Dec. 1, 2025 to Feb. 20th, 2026 at 11:59 PM Central Time.
We accept unpublished poetry, fiction, nonfiction, art, and comics by undergraduate students.
To be eligible for publication in our next issue (May 2026), you must be enrolled as an undergraduate at any U.S. college or university during the 2025-2026 academic year. (If you graduate in December, you’re still eligible.) We will notify you by mid-April with our decisions.
Each student may submit:
- One short story (up to 5,000 words, double-spaced)
- One work of creative nonfiction (up to 5,000 words, double-spaced)
- Note: we do not publish academic or scholarly essays. We do publish literary nonfiction and memoir.
- Up to 5 poems
- Up to 5 works of art
- Up to 10 pages of comics
