What can I submit?

We accept unpublished poetry, fiction, nonfiction, art, and comics by undergraduate students.

Each student may submit:

  • One short story (up to 5,000 words, double-spaced)
  • One work of creative nonfiction (up to 5,000 words, double-spaced)
    • Note: we do not publish academic or scholarly essays. We do publish literary nonfiction and memoir.
  • Up to 5 poems
  • Up to 5 works of art
  • Up to 10 pages of comics

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for publication in our next issue (May 2025), you must be enrolled as an undergraduate at any U.S. college or university during the 2024-2025 academic year. (If you graduate in December, you’re still eligible.)

When will I hear back?

We notify all submitters by mid-April with our decisions.
