Dinner for Two

by Emersyn Li

Women belong in the kitchen,
where men don their white coats

blue veins wrap
around a slender finger,

bake at 350 for 20 minutes
marinate in wine  overnight
for best results

their dresses are discarded
just in time for the appetizers;

hand of housewife,
heart of whore

both Served on porcelain platters
swirling around the room

the merry-go-round won’t stop
until suppertime ends,

the main course consists of
breast meat, thighs, & legs

with filthy lips slicked in sauce
men  pick their teeth with the bones

crying out for seconds,
before the first one is gone
