Editor-in-Chief

Tristan Adams is a Creative Writing and Film Production student who has worked as a projectionist and theatre associate. An avid photographer, Tristan plans to pursue a career in film festival management and film editing post-graduation.

Managing Editor

Emily Fedewa is a junior at UW-Milwaukee majoring in Creative Writing and minoring in Comparative Literature. When she’s not in class, you can find her exploring Milwaukee with friends, watching Criminal Minds, or sipping on a steaming cup of peppermint tea. You can also catch her on her YouTube channel reviewing, ranking, and raving about books of all kinds.

Katie Beeman is a senior at UW-Milwaukee and is a Creative Writing major. When she’s not in class, you can find her reading the latest and greatest horror novel or writing her own thrilling content. She also loves exploring the city with her friends and hopes to eat at every Mexican restaurant in Milwaukee someday.

Lauren Breunig is in her second year at UW-Milwaukee, majoring in Creative Writing with a minor in Journalism. When she is not drinking alarming amounts of coffee while studying, she attempts to bake bread products that technically can be called bagels and works her way through her ever-growing “to be read” list.

Rae’ven Eddy is a senior majoring in Journalism and Media Studies, with a minor in English. She hopes to move to New York City after graduation and work in publishing. In her spare time, she loves to read, daydream to music, drink too much coffee, watch her favorite YouTubers, and talk way too much about her most recent television show or movie obsession. 

Art Editor, Graphic Designer

Erika Jacobsen is pursuing a degree in Design and Visual Communication at UW-Milwaukee. Still sifting through all kinds of mediums, various experiments of her work can be found on her portfolio. When not working at her part-time job as a barista or finding new ways to fuel her creative mind, you can find her cooking up a new favorite dish in the kitchen, hanging out at the ceramics lab, or sipping on a warm cup of matcha and kickin’ back with her cat Juno. 

Nonfiction Editor, Fundraiser

Lindsey Naze is a senior at UW-Milwaukee majoring in Creative Writing. When she’s not studying, she can be found writing, reading, baking, chatting with friends, watching movies and Netflix, or working to become an unofficial expert on ancient Greek mythology. She works as a tutor for UW-Milwaukee at Waukesha’s Online Writing Lab. 

Graphic Designer, Web Editor

Abby Pipho is currently a junior at UW-Milwaukee majoring in Design & Visual Communications. Most of her time is taken up by staring at a screen, whether for schoolwork, losing herself in K-Pop-related YouTube videos, or trying to catch up on anime. She also tries to stay creative by making collages and doodling in her sketchbooks. 

Copyeditor, Researcher

Bill Stephens is in his final semester to obtain his English degree with a minor in Criminal Justice. He enjoys reading a wide range of fiction as well as getting out of the house to participate in physical activities such as rappelling and hiking.

Libby Thomas is one of Furrow’s Graphic Designers. She is currently a senior at UW-Milwaukee majoring in Design and Visual Communication. When she is not in class, she works on creating music, photography, baking, reading, working with children, and spending time with loved ones. 

Art Editor, Layout Editor

Natalie Wallace is a junior at UW-Milwaukee studying Art and Design with a concentration in Design and Visual Communication. She is also pursuing a minor in JAMS with a certificate in Digital Arts and Culture. Natalie’s studies have help her discover the ways in which empathy and vulnerability impact her work. When she isn’t creating or designing, she enjoys exploring local coffee shops.

Patrick Weary, Jr. is currently a senior at UW-Milwaukee majoring in Creative Writing. When he is not spending time writing or reading, he likes to spend time with friends searching for hidden Milwaukee art or drinking tea while reading a good book.

Casandra Zimmerman is a senior majoring in English at UW-Milwaukee and is an Editorial Intern at Dzanc Books. In her spare time, she obsesses about travel, Christopher Moltisanti, and whether Jimi Hendrix’s cover of “All Along the Watchtower” is better than the original by Bob Dylan.

Shelby Zwintscher is a senior at UW-Milwaukee majoring in Creative Writing. Shelby loves storytelling in all forms: writing, theatre, photography, film, and literature. She can often be found falling down the rabbit hole that is fictional worlds. 

Faculty Advisor

Valerie Laken is the Faculty Advisor for Furrow and an Associate Professor of English at UW-Milwaukee. She is the Pushcart Prize-winning author of the novel, Dream House, and the story collection, Separate Kingdoms. She likes dogs, bikes, boats, books, and tea. 

Graduate Student Advisor

Danielle Harms is Furrow’s Graduate Student Advisor. A PhD student in English, she is the Creative Nonfiction Editor for Cream City Review and a Digital Humanities Teaching Fellow. She earned her MFA at George Mason University, where she was the Editor of Phoebe Journal and an Assistant Term Professor. Her writing has been published in the Denver Quarterly, Baltimore Review, Juked, and elsewhere. She really likes lakes and bikes. You can find her online.
