LSPPE alum researches dangerous blood vessel diseases

Laboratory for Sport Psychology and Performance Excellence (LSPPE) alum Sarah Parker was recently featured in a story by the UWM Report. Parker, now a researcher at the Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles, California, started her academic career at UWM before progressing on to the Medical College of Wisconsin and Johns Hopkins.

Her current work concerns the identification of biomarkers indicative of disease and is funded by a prestigious K99-R00 grant from the National Institutes of Health. In the original article, Parker credits mentors throughout her education, including LSPPE faculty Dr. Barbara Meyer.
