Artists Now! Guest Lecture Series: Cynthia Brinich-Langlois
February 1 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Microcosms & Migrations
Through an exploration of the landscape genre, Cynthia Brinich-Langlois emphasizes the effects of human intervention and manipulation in terms of altered topographies, cartographic systems of ordering space, and metaphorical interpretations of ecological systems. Her narrative prints respond to changes observed in the natural world and acknowledge the essential relationship between people and the land they inhabit. Her field-based practice employs drawings, prints, and written reflections to create site-responsive investigations of place, and examine ongoing shifts in land use and accessibility in locations shaped by the subtle and monumental transformations that characterize the natural world.
