Jessica Carpenter, “Information Security in Virtual Reality”
Mentor: Christopher Willey, Film, Video, Animation, & New Genres
This project aims to explore how virtual reality is shaping the digital security field with special attention to scamming and hacking. Virtual reality is a relatively new field and comes with its own challenges for keeping people safe. How a person interacts with someone through a voiced avatar is different from that same person interacting over text, and both of those situations differ from talking face-to-face. This project will present the most common problems facing the community of VRChat, the popular virtual reality massively multiplayer game.
