Phenology 2012 Conference

A second interdisciplinary international conference on phenology was held at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee September 10-13, 2012. This conference brought together over 140 experts from around the world in all sub-fields of phenology and related disciplines. The overall theme of the conference was “Future Climate and the Living Earth.” Conference products will include a set of peer-reviewed scientific papers in a special issue of the International Journal of Biometeorology.

Conference paper and poster sessions ran over 3 days, starting on Monday, September 10th, and finishing on Wednesday, September 12th. Field trips will be held on Thursday, September 13th. Main events took place at the UW-Milwaukee School of Continuing Education Conference Center, located in the heart of Milwaukee’s business and commercial district. The conference dinner was held in the Pilot House at Discovery World (top room in the round building at the center of the image above) and included access to the Reiman Aquarium. Keynote speakers were Dr. Thomas R. Karl, Director of the USA National Climatic Data Center, and Regents Professor Steven W. Running, University of Montana.
