My name is Hamid Ouali. I am a Professor of Linguistics in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I have been at UWM since fall 2006. My research is guided and informed by the tenets of Generative Grammar, especially its latest model: The Minimalist Program. My research uses data from Arabic and Berber and explores what they can tell us about these languages from a micro-comparative perspective and Human language in general from a macro-comparative perspective. The topics that interest me the most are agreement, anti-agreement, tense, aspect, and negation.
