Maggie joins the lab!
We are so happy to welcome Maggie Haines to the Latch Lab as a postdoctoral fellow! Maggie comes to us from Melbourne, where she worked on montane lizard phylogeography and systematics at the University of Melbourne and Australian National University. Learn more about Maggie’s work here.

Emily presents at MFWC
Emily gave a talk in a symposium “Advances in Molecular, Population, and Quantitative Genetics” at the Midwest Fish and Wildlife Conference in Grand Rapids, MI. Latch Lab alum John Powell also presented a talk in this symposium on his UWM work on mule deer genomics.

Deer malaria paper accepted
Emily coauthored a paper accepted to Science Advances describing the rediscovery of an endemic, New World malaria in white-tailed deer. Congrats to Ellen Martinsen, Smithsonian National Zoo postdoc, the lead author of the study.
Bison paper accepted
Our paper on modeling alternative culling strategies to maximize genetic variation in bison herds was accepted by Animal Conservation. Congrats Rachael! (Nov 2015)
