Laboratory for Sport Psychology & Performance Excellence faculty Dr. Barbara Meyer was recently featured in the fourth and final installment of “Women of Milwaukee Athletics: MKE Celebrates 50 Years of Title IX”, a video series on Title IX. In the YouTube video “Episode 4 – Women of Milwaukee Athletics: MKE Celebrates 50 Years of Title IX” shared across MKE social media channels, Dr. Meyer discussed the importance of female representation in athletics departments and other venues alongside Brooke Parnello, Katie Schulz, and Clare Faurote, other women involved in UWM athletics.

Title IX prohibits discrimination based on sex and has provided girls and women in sport with increased interscholastic and intercollegiate opportunities since it was written into law in 1972.
