On Thursday, October 1st, 2020, the UWM Graduate School shared an electronic version of their program for the annual UWM Graduate School Fellowship Celebration. The annual Fellowship Celebration honors the success of UWM’s graduate student fellowship recipients. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the graduate school was forced to suspend their plans for an in-person gathering to celebrate. Among the UWM 2020-21 graduate student fellowship recipients honored in this years program are Carly Wahl and Anthony Luis Magdaleno.
Carly Wahl has been awarded the UWM Graduate Student Excellence Fellowship (GSEF) for the 2020-21 academic year. The GSEF provides advanced degree students the support they need to pursue their research endeavors, complete their studies, and share discoveries with others in their fields. In appreciation of this honor, Wahl said, “This award will allow me to prioritize my dissertation, teaching, and community engagement rather than additional work outside of the university.”
Anthony Luis Magdaleno has been awarded the UWM Graduate School Advance Opportunity Program (AOP) Fellowship for the 2020-2021 academic year. This need-based, renewable award recognizes strong academic achievement and potential. In appreciation of this honor, Magdaleno said, “The fellowship will provide the freedom to focus completely on my education and the development of my research.”
