LSPPE Doctoral Student Carly Wahl Writes for Young Writers Corner in AASP Newsletter

UWM LSPPE doctoral student Carly Wahl along with four other novice sport psychology practitioners wrote a reflective article for the Young Writers’ Corner, which was featured in the Association for Applied Sport Psychology January 2020 Newsletter. In “Failing Forward – Lessons Learned from Mental Performance Consultants,” Wahl, Thomas Gretton (Florida State University), Eric Belt (Springfield College), Shawn Saylors (Springfield College), and Nate Wolch (Western Washington University) interviewed five experienced sport psychology practitioners to learn more about the mistakes they have made in sport psychology consulting, and how these mistakes have helped shape their consulting careers. In the piece, Wahl and her colleagues summarize the results of their interviews and the lessons learned from these practitioners in a list of applied recommendations to help young MPCs in their own practice.
