Course Description
Quantitative approach to understanding fundamental concepts in meteorology. Radiation, heat balance of the atmosphere, thermodynamics, horizontal motion, general circulation, atmospheric observations, clouds, weather map analysis.
Learning Objectives
Students will:
- Become familiar with basic concepts in physical, synoptic and dynamic meteorology
- Gain the ability to solve meteorological problems using appropriate quantitative physical and mathematical methods
- Gain an understanding of the physical significance of quantitative meteorological concepts.
To comply with a Higher Learning Commission requirement, the course syllabus will provide information on the investment of time by an average student to achieve the learning goals of the course.
