Natural Velocity Feedback
    The linearized model of the servovalve/actuator/structure system was proved efficient in predicting the system performance.  This model can be simplified as shown in the following figure.
 

    According to the block diagram algebra, the transfer function from the controller input (Vc) to the actuator force (f) is as follows:

As can be seen, the numerator polynomial includes the denominator of the structure; therefore, the poles of the structure become the zeros of the overall transfer function. This explains the significant amplitude reduction of applied forces near the natural frequency of the structure observed in experimental study.

An additional feedback loop, which modified the command signal, could solve this problem. The green dashed lines shown in the Figure depict a such feedback loop. If every block takes its linearized form, the overall transfer function then becomes
