Submission Requirements

There are four steps to submission. We recommend that you prepare each step well in advance of the submission deadline by following the guidelines below:

  1. Write a Project Abstract
  2. Produce a 3-minute video presentation
  3. Compile your reference list (can be placed behind a QR code on video or uploaded separately as a PDF)
  4. Complete the Submission Form

Project Abstract Requirements

Presenters should prepare a scholarly abstract (300 words or less) of their project. This should be done according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association 7th edition (APA), American Medical Association Manual of Style (AMA), or in a format appropriate for the student’s field of study.

Video Presentation Requirements

Presenters should prepare a video presentation of their project. The video presentation should be no more than 3 minutes long and include the following:

  • Title of the project
  • Author name(s)
  • Faculty sponsor
  • Department and college/school
  • Brief introduction/rationale grounded in the scientific literature
  • Purpose statement
  • Brief description of the methods
  • Results (if available/applicable)
  • Conclusions
  • References (can also be placed behind a QR-code)

The video presentation can be produced using different platforms/applications. These include, but are not limited to: Microsoft PowerPoint voiceover poster, Microsoft Teams, Collaborate Ultra, Prezi, Doodly, VoiceThread, iMovie, Canva, etc.

Video presentations can be submitted as URL links (e.g., YouTube) or mp4 files.

Video Presentation Resources

Students have many options for software platforms/applications when creating a video presentation for submission. These include, but are not limited to: Microsoft PowerPoint voiceover poster, Microsoft Teams, Collaborate Ultra, Prezi, Doodly, VoiceThread, iMovie, Canva, etc.
