Multi-Segment Foot Model Anatomical Landmark Precision

The aim of the study is to investigate the within-tester and between-tester precision related to identification of anatomical landmarks on the shank and foot bones associated with a kinematic multi-segment foot model.

Who can participate? 

  • Males and Females
  • Ages 18 to 44
  • No injuries to thigh, legs, or feet in the last 3 months that resulted in at least 1 interrupted day of desired physical activity
  • No major spine, thigh, leg, or foot surgery to the right limb
  • No swelling in the thighs, legs, or feet
  • No arthritis, neuromuscular, or neurodegenerative disease

What will I do?:

  • Phone screen to determine study eligibility (~5 min)
  • Lab visit 1 (~1 h 10 min)
    • Complete consent form
    • Record height and weight
    • Sit while bony landmarks are identified and reflective markers are placed on your leg and foot
    • Stand in a comfortable  position while data is collected
    • The bony landmark procedures will be performed by two testers
  • Lab visit 2 (~1 h)
    • Return within 1 week to repeat the testing procedures
