Erie Fatherhood Project (EFP)

What is EFP?

EFP is a research study designed to test a new prenatal care program for young men and women who are expecting their first baby. This project is being run through Erie Family Health Centers (EFHC) and Rush University Medical Center, in Chicago, and supported by the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.

This project hopes to identify new ways to support both expectant fathers and mothers as they get ready for parenthood.

Young expectant parents are first interviewed during the second trimester of their pregnancy. The first interview focuses on how they are feeling about becoming parents and getting ready for parenthood.
