Past Events:
December 2019
International Human Rights Day: Tuesday, Dec. 10th
“Where, after all, do universal human rights begin? In small places, close to home — so close and so small that they cannot be seen on any maps of the world. […] Unless these rights have meaning there, they have little meaning anywhere. Without concerted citizen action to uphold them close to home, we shall look in vain for progress in the larger world.” — Eleanor Roosevelt
70 years ago on this day, The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. Even though each day is a day to celebrate, uphold, and defend human rights, December 10th is a day where we can all reflect on what the UDHR has done for millions world wide.
