Milwaukee has a strong history in racial segregation including redlining, restricted deeds, and covenants. However, there is also a forgotten history of community resistance to these actions. By means of collection of article data, including census data and convents, as well as collection of historical research, the data elucidated a prevalence of restricted covenants in Milwaukee suburbs and a changing of the racial makeup of current districts in the city. Based on the evidence, we concluded these circumstances emerged from a mix of redlining and restricted covenants in Milwaukee that led impart to the hyper segregation seen by residents today.
