Taken Sunday, October 26th. Whenever we see a part of the moon, it is because the light of the sun is hitting it and reflecting off the surface. I’m including this image as a bonus since it technically fits the criteria of light and reflection.

Taken Sunday, October 26th. In the upper right corner of the bus station, you can see the reflection of the 7 Eleven sign. The technical term for flipping something over an axis while graphing is reflection as well, and you can see that in the image since the sign appears backwards.

Taken Sunday, October 26th. The sunlight coming in through the front windows hit a decorative bowl I have and created the colorful reflections on the inside of the tv stand. I really appreciate all the different hues that are present in the bowl and the light it reflects.

ASchulte Journals Week 7 Lighting Journals — Reflected Light

This is a picture of a prism I have on my windowsill—when the sunlight hits it at the right angles, you can see all of the different colors of light.

This is a picture I took in the light lab while working on the Mice + Men assignment. I was using mylar, which creates some interesting reflections on the floor/curtain in the lab.

This is a porch light one of my neighbors has. Its reflection creates some interesting patterns and shadows on the sidewalk.

Tanner Zietlow Week 7

This was the result of my phone light hitting a wine glass on my counter. I noticed this cool effect when I put my phone light on the counter of my dark kitchen since I needed to grab something. When I noticed this reflected on the wall, it took me a while to find a light to recreate it since I needed my phone to take the picture. I took this one a while ago and saved it hoping it would eventually fit a prompt.

My first attempt for my quotes project. During the actual presentation I didn’t remember to align the lights to hit the mirror other than the movers, but in my original plan, all the different colored lights hit the mirror and went through the chair, creating this repeated pattern in different colors on the backdrop.

Noticed a lot of different reflections going on when I took pictures of the pumpkins me and my mom carved this weekend. The most noticeable is the selection of the faces on the floor, I find it really interesting how the shapes change, I’m assuming the way it happened is having to do with the texture of the floor. I also liked the dash of light across part of the screen from the candle inside. This picture was also partially an excuse to show off the pumpkin I made, mines the one on the left.

Harvey: Reflected Light

While out filming test footage for my Film 222 project with a friend, I was noticing all the light around me. It’s more difficult to find reflected light unless you’re really paying attention. I was able to see it on cars and at the park on the very edges of the different play structures. It’s very hard to capture on camera without getting yourself in the image or overexposing the image.

Taken Saturday, October 25th. This is the light from my candle reflecting on the window. I think the most interesting part is the doubling of the flame due to the reflecting on the front and back of the pane of glass.

Lighting Journal Week 6 Late Submission

Hi Steve,

I understand if not, and if it would be best to simply catch up on points with the extra credit journals at the end of the semester; however, I thought I’d send you some photos for our Week 6 focus in the case you may be able to take them late. I was inside a dark theater for all day tech at Renaissance the entirety of last week, and also just had trouble feeling like I was noticing lighting for our focus of the week. If you would take a late submission, here it is:

My first photo, like many others, was taken in my bedroom at my apartment, as I often notice how the light filters in the windows differently at different times of day and through different types of weather just by sitting in bed. I noticed this example of side lighting and how the light specifically hits the wall to a certain point/angle before the curtains blocking the rest of the window cut it off, and the room darkens a bit.

I then noticed a similar pattern as light filtered on trees from above but couldn’t reach the ground as well as the canopy above blocked it from all different angles as each tree’s height cut the light off from hitting another part of another tree and so on.

the image of my room has so much darkness with the 2 fixtures able to illuminate around them and leave some light to cast below, allows for a lot of shadow and light and dark areas.

The imagine with the Halloween decorations has so much back light and gives Lucas some really neat color in his hair, but perfectly illumantes him with no front lights or side lights.

The cappuccino I made was taken in a very bright work area at work, and we see lots of bright light right on top, but the pitcher In the back allows for a lot of reflection and gives the even more light to the area.
