Hope Jackson – Reflected light 2

I was focused on taking a picture of the pretty colored sky and later I noticed the reflection of the ceiling lights in the window. The array of lights look unnatural compared to the organic sky and clouds. In this instance, I wish I could have avoided the unintentional reflections in the window.

Image One: I took this picture down by the Marcus Performing Arts Center. I really like how all the lights of the city at night reflect and interact with the river.
Image Two: Another door picture. The light again is reflecting on the wall from the sunlight coming in. I like how the light goes to both sides due to the glass.
Image Three: This is an art piece at the art museum. I love how the light hits off of the glass bottles and the mirror to create the illusion that there the bottles stretch back and back when there’s actually only 1 row.

I notice this often in my bedroom how the light reflects and leaves a glare on my photos. I didn’t pay attention before how the glare can shift in different directions depending on the photo and how it’s bending, but this also made me think about seeing Hamilton and how even at the professional level I still saw glare coming off of Alexander’s glasses. It’s a hard thing to avoid, but it’s something to be aware of when lighting the costume/prop choices made. There could be glare on a window if they keep a glass or film in it.

Snapped this pic on the way home from class this week! The picture doesn’t do it justice, but the clouds opened up in one small spot that let a beam of light hit and reflect off of the buildings windows! It threw patterns all across the grass! It was super cool!!!
