Around seven minutes
The fun in capturing someone in a moment is figuring out how they got there. When watching
people have an experience there’s always a subtlety of emotion that happens when they try to stop their reactions. This leads to an in-between that I like to refer to as micro expressions. Expressions that are impossible to recreate. This four-portrait series will explore micro expressions and their ability to connect other humans through a feeling that is indescribable. Using video footage, I was able to capture the micro expressions of four models. I had them sit in a chair think about memories or to just ponder. Each person sat for an average of ten minutes, but around seven minutes is when I was able to get the faces needed. Which were then recreated through digital paintings. This work is displayed with the portraits and a QR code leading to the video of the person caught in a moment. Allowing a peek into the mind of the model. (see video links below the gallery)
