Artist Statement
“Love: in 200 Words or Less”
Inspired by the New York Times column, “Tiny Love Stories”, this project is a collection of stories or experiences told to me by friends and family condensed into 200 words or less. They can be about times in their lives where they shared or felt loved, connected, or seen by other human beings. Some can be simple, some heavier.
I combined these stories into a magazine made primarily in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Procreate. A goal of mine is to successfully use typography and illustrations to compliment the stories, and ultimately bring together a compelling and enjoyable visual storytelling experience. My hope is that someone viewing this artwork can find something to connect with or appreciate, and that it will inspire them to connect with others or reflect on stories of their own.
