Artist Statement
Triangles & Circles
Triangles & Circles is a visual representation of Milwaukee experienced on a bike. In the scope of street photography, the viewer is made to feel as though they are riding through Milwaukee, mindfully observing their surroundings, exploring perspective through the people, buildings, signs, alleyways-cats, shadows, reflections and garbage that make Milwaukee unique. Analog photography, digital photography and videography are used in combination to create a diverse yet cohesive series which reflects the fluidity and physicality of navigating Milwaukee via bicycle. The intention of this project is to express an appreciation for bikes as a tool of exploration and self preservation, specifically the freedom of movement that it provides. All I’m saying is, you should go for a bike ride. It’s good for you.
