Artist Statement

Nuage is a sparkling water brand made from scratch that was created with keeping experience rather than design in mind through sensory branding. Sensory branding is a business strategy that engages one, some or all five senses in order to create a more engaging experience for consumers. In order to test my visual design skills, I created designs that served as cues for the five senses. I used illustrations, colors, and materials that would serve as ways to feel like you can almost taste, smell, and hear. Getting inspiration from Apple products, I wanted to create a product that had a more calming, sleek feel to stick out in a world that is very over-stimulating. In addition, I wanted the bottle to be attractive enough to be reused if desired by the consumer. The use of a frosted glass bottle fulfilled this goal as it has a sleek, yet soft look that could be reused for other liquids or as decor. 

The design assets were created with the help of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. The bottle is frosted glass with a label printed by Digicopy, and the multi-pack packaging is made of cardboard. These all come together to make a fictional brand come to life, which I find is the most magical part about my practice. I would like the viewer to experience my brand creation by taking in the illustrations, colors, and material used to feel like they are in the world of Nuage
