Artist Statement

The global financial system is blowing up in front of us all and “Own the Future” is a documentary examining the U.S. stock market and the concept of direct ownership. Through my video, I aim to highlight how the current financial system operates to benefit a select few at the expense of the majority. I am interested in exploring how direct ownership can provide a more equitable and just system for all. By utilizing video production, I can visually represent complex ideas and convey a message in a way that is accessible and impactful. Through interviews, visual storytelling, and data visualization, I am working to create a narrative that challenges the dominant narrative around the financial system and inspires viewers to think critically about alternative ownership and wealth distribution models. My video will not only inform and educate but also motivate action and change. By shining a light on the injustices of the financial system and promoting the idea of direct ownership, I hope to contribute to a larger movement toward a more fair and equitable society.
