Milwaukee is one of the nation’s leading beer brewing cities. The Pabst Brewery here in Milwaukee is also largely credited as the first brewer to package beer in six packs.  Before the invention of plastic, six pack carriers would be made from materials such as wood or metal. But, since then plastic rings are often used. Plastic rings are one of the most common forms of beer can six pack packaging. These rings are a large player in the garbage heaps killing our ocean and wildlife when they are not properly disposed of. This is why I set out to find an eco-friendly alternative to these plastic rings. I researched, designed and prototyped three separate packaging concepts which could replace the six pack plastic ring. The designs are user friendly, with multiple carrying options. The packaging  also leaves a large amount of room for marketing opportunities and beverage facts. These six pack carrier concepts will not only enhance user experience but also will help keep our planet safe.
