Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

A widely accepted ritual for hair—on the head anyways. What about body hair? Below are some at-home procedures:

Prep Skin. Choose a razor. Go with grain, then against. Apply cream or lotion to reduce irritation.

Prep Skin. Apply wax strip with the grain. Pull quickly in the opposite direction. Apply cream or lotion to reduce irritation.

Prep Skin. Apply sugar against the grain. Pull quickly in the opposite direction. Apply cream or lotion to reduce irritation.

In other words … Loathe. Rinse. Repeat.

We’ve been prepped believing body hair is unnecessary, despite being mammals. Having it is letting go of pride—being disheveled even. This results in processes and products attempting to combat this subliminal irritation.

But the irritation lingers—the skin cries with each removal. Is cleanliness being hairless? How is this, when having hair is hygienic.

This sculpture relief challenges this false truth. Images are formed by fixing down the hairs; then it’s used like a stamp.

Create. Rinse. Repeat.

Your grooming choices should be personal, not forced by misguided understandings. There’s no need to feel uncomfortable in your skin for what happens naturally.

May I suggest a new routine?

Self-love. Do what suits you. Repeat.
