I am an Associate Professor of Epidemiology in the Joseph J. Zilber School of Public Health at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Associate Professor L/I in the Department of Population Health Science at University of Wisconsin-Madison and past Marmot Prince Mahidol Fellow in the Institute for Health Equity at University College London. My research is focused on better understanding 1) social patterning of infectious disease, 2) etiologic links between infectious and chronic diseases and 3) novel pathways by which social disparities in health persist across the lifecourse and are perpetuated across generations. Along with an all-female team of interdisciplinary scientists and clinicians, I also help operate the social media-based COVID-19 science communication campaign, Dear Pandemic, which provides curated, comprehensive, and timely information about the COVID-19 pandemic with the mission of empowering individuals to successfully navigate the COVID-19 “infodemic” (
