Public Policy Projects in Engineering Education

I have incorporated projects into two Mechanical Engineering technical electives (ME 432:  Internal Combustion Engines, and ME 435: Powerplant Theory and Design) which engage students in public policy consideration.  In ME 435, students develop a plan for how the United States will produce electricity in 25 years, and in ME 432, students have written summaries for “policy makers” on issues relevant to IC Engines.  Links to some of the papers I have presented on these projects are found below.
