Our research for supercapacitors is focused on the investigation of high surface area carbon materials including material synthesis, activation and modification. We focus on the research on asymmetric ultracapacitors especially LIC and proton insertion capacitors.
Besides the investigations on structure, surface and porosity of the carbon material, such as crystal size (R value), surface functional groups and pore distribution, we also study the SEI formation and Li or proton insertion kinetics.
We aim to understand the impact of carbon properties on capacitor kinetics.
