Postdocs

We are currently recruiting for a postdoc to work on a project entitled Microbial Physiology of Mercury Methylation. This project will focus on using monocultures of mercury-methylating organisms to understand the metabolic drivers of mercury methylation under environmentally relevant conditions. See our post for more details, and apply through this link.

If you are interested, we’re also always open to supporting prospective postdocs who would like to seek independent funding to pursue their own research ideas that align with our laboratory goals (See Research Page). If you would like to pursue this avenue, please email Dr. Peterson with your CV and a 1/2 to 1 page outline of your proposed project. Some potential funding mechanisms are listed here:

Graduate students

I am not currently recruiting graduate students. However, if you are interested in joining the lab as a graduate student in fall of 2026, please keep an eye out here for postings going forward.

Undergraduate students

I am open to supporting UW-Milwaukee undergraduate students who are interested in gaining research experience. Please contact Dr. Peterson if you are interested in joining the lab.
