I love working with and analyzing data in Rstudio. One of my favorite data sharing and exploration tools in Rstudio is Shiny. Shiny is an R package that makes it easy to build interactive web apps straight from R.
Currently, I’m using Shiny to develop an interactive data exploration tool called “Limno Explorer” (follow the link for better interaction with the App on my Shiny server). This tool has already helped me rapidly plot and compare data related to my research in the Lake Michigan nearshore zone. Stay tuned for future updates and improvements. In the meantime, you can play with the prototype version below.
In the fall of 2019, I created my first Shiny web application, “BuoyApp”, for a class project. This application focused on UW-Milwaukee’s Atwater 20m buoy. I have not updated this app since the project ended, but am considering a revamp that allows the user to choose which year(s) they would like to view. Currently, you can interact with the Atwater 20m buoy data from the 2019 field season.
