Electrochemistry of Fuel Cells and Batteries, MatlEng 890, UW-Milwaukee
This course covers the electrochemistry of fuel cells, batteries, sensors, membrane separation and electrolytic methods are discussed. Thermodynamics and kinetics of electrode reactions and associated mass transport in electrochemical systems are covered. Measurements techniques used in characterizing electrochemical systems are also discussed.

Materials for Energy Systems. 3 cr. U/G. MatlEng 483, UW-Milwaukee

This course covers the processing, structure, and properties of materials used in energy systems. The material related electrochemistry in fuel cells, batteries, photovoltaics, and electrolytic methods are discussed. Material issues in traditional power generation will also be covered. Nanomaterials and corresponding nanotechnology in energy systems will be introduced.

Basic behavior and processing of engineering materials emphasizing metals and alloys and including ceramics and plastics. Laboratory work is included.

Advanced Materials Characterization, MatlEng 511, UW-Milwaukee
Theory and operation of advanced materials characterization instrumentation including, but not limited to, XRD, XPS, FTIT/Raman, SEM/TEM/EDS, AFM/STM and thermal analysis measurements. Prereq: jr st; MatlEng 411(P)
