Associate Professor Brooke Slavens, PhD, and her research team and partners are researching a condition that has no known cure: Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS). hEDS is an inherited disorder where patients often experience frequent joint dislocations, chronic joint pain, and skin that is extremely pliable and easily bruised. The team’s goal is to devise better treatment and care plans for hEDS patients.
